Have fallen behind a bit, haven't I? Last post was Saturday evening and here it is Tuesday morning already. Time to catch up.
When we left Watertown, NY on Sunday, we drove through northeastern New York and the state of Vermont. By using the state roads rather than the interstates, we could enjoy the old small towns and the beautiful waterways as we traveled. When we crossed over from Vermont to New Hampshire, we stopped for the night in Lancaster, NH. We had a clear, unobstructed view of the Super Moon Eclipse! We hope the skies were clear where you were so you could enjoy it too.
Yesterday, we drove through NH into Maine. Another beautiful state! We had lunch and walked around the port in Bar Harbor. Then we drove around the coast line of Mount Desert Island. We never actually went in to Acadia National Park as we had originally planned, but we enjoyed the ride we had.
Today we are heading to Rockport and Gloucester, Mass.

Saturday, September 26, 2015
After a week at home having the car worked on, Jim and I hit the road again this morning. Tonight we are in Watertown, NY, where my sister, Marty, and her husband, Dan, had lived until about 15 months ago. We just finished dinner at the historic Crystal Restaurant.
We had a beautiful day driving via Canada in the autumn sunshine. Even had the top down for the afternoon. Jim is soooo happy that the car is running smoothly again!

Day 5
Trip odometers: 1269
We are in Whitby, Ontario tonight. Sound familiar? That's because we were here Monday night too.
Having trouble with the new clutch installed in the Corvette a few weeks ago. So we are returning home so the dealer can work on it again next week.
So sorry to miss the rest of the adventures we had planned for this vacation. Maybe another time.

Day 4
Trip odometer unchanged.
Today we drove only to the ferry dock from our hotel (which is in Levi's on the south side of the St. Lawrence River). We road the ferry across the river to Old Quebec City. We spent the next several hour walking the old city viewing the fortresses, churches, homes and shops. Had a quiet lunch at one of the many outdoor cafes.

Day 3
Trip odometer: 813 miles
Today was a driving day to Quebec City, but what a beautiful drive it was!
Leaving our B and B in Montreal, we traveled Chemin du Roy, Canada's oldest highway, along the
St. Lawrence River. Passing through lovely old villages, top down in the gorgeous sunshine. A good day.

9/14/15 8:30PM
End of day one in Witby, Ontario
Trip odometer - 298 miles
Left home at 9:30AM, clear skies, 60 degrees.
Didn't get all that far today. Lots of traffic in and around Toronto.
Surprise event #1. I pulled a wire in the Corvette that disconnected the
elctronic switch that opens the hatch to our luggage. Fortunately, Jim and a friendly
by-stander were able to fix it! Saved! Phew!
